Marieme is a young black girl living in the suburbs of Paris who, with few expectations, joins a gang of girls, setting off a process of self-discovery and self-confidence. The film tells the story of a blossoming teenager, portraying issues common to any girl, independent of their social class or where they live. It deals with the discovery of sexuality, the search for acceptance from other girls, the building of new friendships, and the chauvinistic relations that still shape our daily lives. All of these questions invite the viewer to reflect on what it means to be a woman in today’s society.
